Some green inspiration.

At the beginning of the semester, I was assigned to create a blog that reflected my personal interests and that I would be interested in authoring professionally. My classmates wrote about everything from classic cars to fashion.  I have been interested in the environment and green issues since high school. Once I came to NC State University, I was able to pursue my interests in protecting the environment, eating organic, and buying local and fair trade products.

“I’m Mr. Green Miser” is a blog for the environmentally aware who are also strapped for cash. People often complain that the only thing holding them back from a greener lifestyle is the cost. This blog proves that being green is easy and can be done on a college student’s budget. My posts demonstrate that a person can become more environmentally conscious by making a few simple changes to his or her daily routine. 

To create a good blog, I continually checked my competitor's blogs, stayed updated on the latest green news, used embedded photos and videos, published an RSS feed, linked my blog up to Twitter, and connected it to Facebook.

“Green Miser” speaks to students about topics that are relevant and goals that are attainable for everyone. College students are often overlooked in the green world because bloggers view them as apathetic towards the environment and too lazy to walk over to the recycling bin. Through my blog, I have challenged my peers to do something positive with their limited resources.
